My improvement

I can push William Ng with the "single whip" push.

I feel better after 3 and 2/3 rounds of Tai Chi
last night, Saturday night.
Eyes felt more opened.
Manual says 3 times/ "rounds" is minimum.

Felt Friday night:
Energy tinkling, ants felt, at left hand fingers.
Index, then middle, then thumb, then pinky.
Don't have the feeling at ring finger.

But not as strong as in class back in September, when the
pulse is in the outside of the center of the palms.

Standing hugging tree experience

William Ng's structure is solid, and can "push" me backwards
just by being in hugging tree stance, and
taking a step forward.

I felt shoulder pain after 15 minutes, and it went
away after 25 or 30 minutes. Wanted to do more
after 45. Stopped at 50 minutes.

Knee Pain

Knee pain is almost gone , but returned doing Wing Chun cat stance, punch.
Knee pain is reduced by the Tai Chi 4 corners exercise.

Manual says have to to 3 rounds Tai Chi without rest to get benefit.
That takes 45 minutes.

I can now stand 2.5 minutes on 1 leg.
10 minutes walking cat stance.

35 Minutes

Did not stand yesterday.
But up to 35 minutes. 
More numbness came to both hands.
arms movement felt more like a whip, but without the power.

Tinkling came to right hand, index finger only.
Felt the pain at spot where my wife bit on.

It is easy to complete 25 minutes out in a park.
It is easier to complete 35 minutes indoor with a clock, with a second hand.

The inhale reached a tendon in the shoulder, after 30 minutes.

Had a dream, no Chinese, a few black, and hispanics, all knew Kung Fu, 
They didnt demonstrate, but that was the message.
Don't know the level of power.

Read one of the Yang Tai Chi masters used a broom and defeated his students holding a sword.
That proves Chi was emitted, to shake away opponents.

Hugging Tree experience

About 12:30 am Thurday 9-4-2008,
Finished 15 minutes of hugging tree standing.
At the end, I held breathe (no exhale, no inhale)
for 30 seconds, felt heat rush forward from body to
biceps to fingers.

Did not do hugging tree on 9-1, 9-2, 9-3
Before that, felt the "ants walking" on my right hand last finger.

Tuesday night, had attended a Tai Chi class of Alex Dong (Tung)
Had a dream on morning of Wednesday 9-3-2008,
a healer, a young lady gave me energy.
Woke up a 5 am, felt strong, but I decided to go back to sleep
instead of getting up and exercise.

Butterfly and Kidney Breathing

From the Shaolin "form" - Butterfly,
Repeated the first move 40 times and started feeling breathing from kidneys.
This was Felt on Sunday May 11, 2008. Mother's Day.

Inhaled at the rest, and exhaled at the movements.

Does a "hard on" in the morning reduce my energy level ?
Felt very weak when I got up from bed, compared to yesterday.
Did not felt like doing morning exercise.

I need to get up earlier.

Felt much stronger after the 120 reps of modified cloud hands, on each arm.
Note: Cloud hands as taught by Alex Dong (Tung) is a pull and elbowing the opponent.
My intention is a palm strike. or a back palm strike.
Much more like a bird or butterfly spreads one wing .

Still have pain in my right knee.

Holding up the Sky -technique

Felt the wind in my right hand.
But not in the left hand.

Possibly because 1. Left wrist still damaged, still feel pain. 2. Did not open my eyes while practicing with left hand.

Right arm felt more swollen and bigger, and stronger.

Did not do 200 reps this past weekend.

Good practice session

When I have done my 200 reps properly,
my shoulder tendons should start to ache, and
at the end, my arms should feel fuller.

Stopped crescent kicks daily for at least a month.
legs don't feel as strong.
Lower back don't feel as strong.

Had to do joint rotation on lower back to wake up

Intention in Tai Chi

Started to think
After 200 reps, or 160 reps, and rest a minute.

Do more of the same exercise and put in intention,
which is tense up the muscle and tendons.

Add breathing on the "hitting"

Experiences up to April 11, 2008

EAT CHICKEN FEET when legs and feet don't feel good.

Wisdom from Grandmother.
Always eat chicken feet if possible.
Last Friday, or Wednesday before that, my left feet was swollen, and
after eating 6 boiled chicken feet,
and waiting about 20 minutes.
I felt electricity shoots down from my stomach to my feet,
My left leg was not as swollen afterwards, and the level of pain decreased.

Lack of sleep

Didn't sleep 5 nights before 2 am. Hurt my energy level.
Thanks to Herbal soup from William Ng, I didn't have headache as usual.

Usually, I have headache the next 3 days, and must take advil.
No medicine needed this time.

But my energy level was damaged to a point where I cannot feel my arms
as strong.

It has been over 2 weeks training 200 reps on the 3 Tai Chi movements.
I was strong before this lack of sleep situation. I was able to match William Ng's
bone strength in 3 Star Blocks.

Now my left arm hurts. That's very bad.

Good news today.

After about 200 reps of both arms doing "throwing a disc" (not the real name, will find it later)
in the morning before work,
Felt electricity shoot to tip of middle finger,
1st it was my right hand, and after about 10 minutes,
felt a tricke on my left middle finger.

On April 9, 2008

After jogging 22 minutes at night with William Ng,
did 20 reps of outward crescent kicking the hands, each leg.

Felt heat shoot to the arms.
After sitting down for 5 minutes, the heat traveled to the face, and
the arms felt nourishment coming. Not electricity,
but felt like after workout in bootcamp.

Experiences March 30, 2008

Sunday morning.
Jogged 20 minutes. Left lower back has tight pain as if blood refuse to flow there.
Wife suggested to see Chinese Chiropractor at 53rd Street and 8 Ave.
Wife recovered from back pain, as she went for the last treatment
after going to cemetary to see her father's grave.


Back to the morning situation.
Met Mr. Lee yesterday, and saw him leading a small group to Tai Chi.
Mr. Lee also does Tai Chi Sword. He said the couple doing push hands are
husband and wife (Dr Leung and wife acutpuncturist)

After doing 3 star block with William Ng, he admits my forearms did get stronger.
This is a result of doing the cloud hands and the first movement of Tai Chi at least
160 repetitions.
Taught and forced William to complete 120 reps on the first move of Tai Chi, hands raised above head. And did maybe only 10 reps (It was 9 am, and I had to leave) on the left hand of
cloud hand.

My left and right arms were in pain as I did the slow motion punching (about 120x) as I drove
to Washington Memorial Park.


Lastly, yesterday, after having 4 chicken feet (boiled for 20 minutes), felt electricity shooting down my left leg to heal the left foot. Left foot felt pain and swelling from Friday nigh,t 20 minutes jogging.

During and 5 minutes after doing 40x reps on outside crescent kick (stand like a cross with arms up at the side, kick to the hand extended) My breathing was difficult from being out of shape, but felt "Chi" being pushed down to both arms and hands, and down to Tan Tien. Did not feel it go further down to legs.

My exercise experiences March 18, 2008

It was either March 13, or March 14, 2008.
I was repeating the first 3 movements of tai chi separately about 160 times each. And cloud hands separately about 160 times. (suppose to be 100's. Like 100, 200. and then 3 sets.)
Shoulders area, tendon sore. Not the shoulder.
Arms were slightly shaking from tireness.

My knees were in pain before I finished. The pain lasted 24 hours - it only returned when I bend my knees..
I didn't practice the knee bending action the following session, to avoid the pain.

Had Leaked on Saturday Morning March 15, 2008.
Didn't perform running/jogging until Sunday. The rule, which I broke, is not to exercise for
60 hours or 2 nights. If leaked on Monday morning, then cannot exercise until Wednesday night.

March 17, 2008 Monday (Bear Stearns bought by JPM Chase Bank at $2 a share)
As I practiced the same movements above, the pain was not there.

March 18, 2008 Tuesday
As I practiced the 1st movement, felt, but didn't see sweat move down my arms.
Strange tingling. In the left arm, the feeling stopped at the elbow, the right arm felt at the elbow, plus wrist area. But only 1 point on the wrist, not the entire wrist, and the forearm didn't have the feeling.

Headache returned in the afternoon, possibly from leaking on Saturday morning, and exercising before Monday night. Took pain medicine, after 2 hours still in pain.

Headache gone after
1. Orange - one cold orange
2. Cooked spinage (baby spinage from Trader Joes)
3. massage from wife, with medicated oil from Singapore.
